If you're a Google Chrome user, you may have noticed that the browser tends to use a lot of processes. In fact, if you look in the Task Manager, you may see that there are dozens of Chrome processes running. This can be confusing and frustrating, especially if you're trying to figure out which process is using up all your CPU or memory.
The good news is that there's a way to stop Google Chrome from using so many processes. All you need to do is change one setting in the browser.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser, then click on "Settings."
- In the "Settings" menu, click on "Advanced."
- In the "Advanced" settings, find the section labeled "System."
- Under "System," there is a setting for "Use hardware acceleration when available."
- Make sure that the "Use hardware acceleration when available" setting is turned off.
That's all you need to do! Once you've turned off the "Use hardware acceleration when available" setting, Google Chrome will use fewer processes.
If you're a Google Chrome user, you may have noticed that the browser seems to be using an increasingly large number of processes on your computer. This can be quite worrying, as it can appear that Chrome is using up all of your computer's resources and slowing everything down.
Luckily, there is a way to fix this issue. By following the steps below, you can reduce the number of processes that Chrome is using, and help speed up your computer.
- Type 'chrome://settings/' into the Chrome address bar.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Advanced'.
- Under the 'System' section, uncheck the box next to 'Use hardware acceleration when available'.
- Restart Chrome.
After following these steps, the number of processes that Chrome is using should be reduced. If you're still seeing a large number of processes, you may need to disable some Chrome features or extensions.
